【摘要】:Thesurfaceofwhiteorlight-coloredvulcanizedrubberarticles,orvulcanizedrubbercoveredwithanorganicfinish,maydiscolorwhenexposedtoconditionsofhumidity,ormoisture,heat,andsunlight.Thischangeincoloroflight-coloredrubbersurfacesisobjectionabletotheconsumer.Resultsobtainedshouldbetreatedonlyasindicatingtheeffectofirradiancefromthespecifiedsource(eitherUVA-340lampsoraxenonarcwithaDaylightFilter)andnotasequivalenttotheresultofanynaturalexposure,unlessthedegreeofquantitativecorrelationhasbeenempiricallyestablishedforthematerialinquestion.Thistestmethodmaybeusedforproducer-consumeracceptance,refereepurposes,andresearchanddevelopmentwork.1.1Thistestmethodcoverstechniquestoevaluatethesurfacediscolorationofwhiteorlight-coloredvulcanizedrubberthatmayoccurwhensubjectedtoUVorUV/visibleexposurefromspecifiedsourcesundercontrolledconditionsofrelativehumidity,ormoisture,andtemperature.1.2Thistestmethodalsodescribeshowtoqualitativelyevaluatethedegreeofdiscolorationproducedundersuchconditions.1.3Theterm"discoloration"appliestoacolorchangeoftherubbersample,asdistinguishedfromstaining(see),thatreferstoacolorchangeofametalfinishincontactwithoradjacenttotherubberspecimen.1.4ThevaluesstatedinSIunitsaretoberegardedasthestandard.Thevaluesgiveninparenthesesareforinformationonly.Thisstandarddoesnotpurporttoaddressallofthesafetyconcerns,ifany,associatedwithitsuse.Itistheresponsibilityoftheuserofthisstandardtoestablishappropriatesafetyandhealthpracticesanddeterminetheapplicabilityofregulatorylimitationspriortouse.TestsforstainingarecoveredbyTestMethodsD925.
